All FOUR of my boxes I sent to Matt in Afghanistan arrived!!! It only took a week. I am hoping all of the goodies I sent raise his spirits and give him a silver lining in such a terrible place. He says that the warfare and gun fights are worse there than they were in Iraq. I pray every day he is safe and watches his back and step. It sounds like he is on base mostly. I cannot believe we have SIX more months of this.

Jaiden has found his new friend. He is never happier than when he is staring himself in the face!

Sunday’s day at the lake with my friends. It was so hot and so sunny. We tanned and boated and bbqed and I thoroughly enjoyed the company I was in!!!

Today is my son’s 8month birthday!!! It seems so crazy that he is growing up so fast. He has learned to stand all by himself (holding onto the wall or the couch) I have a feeling he will be walking in no time!!! Both teeth have come in and they give him even more of a personality than he already has!!!
This deployment is NOT going by quickly at all. The days drag on and I’m on an emotional roller coaster. I pray for peace and guidance through the next 7 months. They say patience is a virtue, yet even as a mother I don’t have it!!!
I will continue to pray for good days and fast weeks!
